Description

In 1993, Resource Recovery purchased the existing Northside Redemption Centre. Two thirds of the former tractor sales building was leased by Resource until 2005 when the property was put up for sale. Purchased by Resource, the remaining third of the building was used for storage until the closure of Southside Redemption Centre on York Street in August 2008. At that time, 100 percent of the building was needed for the centre's operation. The centre now has two EZEE Sort automated counting stations.

I just got back from the Northside bottle redemption centre and I will never be going back there again. The service there is unbelievable. The people that work there were beyond rude to me and if they think that when they talk in there the people outside can't hear them they're wrong. If any of you are planning on taking your recyclables in I would think about going somewhere else where you might be treated with respect. The man taking my bottles even got angry at me because he had to jump up in the back of my truck to get the bags. Well sorry I couldn't do your job for you there because I just had knee surgery and I can't just go around jumping into backs of trucks. I have never had such poor service in all my life. They should rethink their career choice if they can't handle working with the public.

I was at the Northside Redemption Centre on Monday, Sept. 12th with a lot of returns. I've been there before with large returns but this time I truly felt ripped off. Clerk01 gave me $17.10. I said that seems really low and can I have my receipt. Once home I realized I WAS ripped off and where I was ripped off was on my wine bottles. I had 6 boxes with 14 bottles per box equalling 84. My receipt shows 9. He gave me back 6 empty boxes. Why would I have 6 boxes for 9 bottles??? I should have received $8.40 for the wine bottles, instead I got 90 cents. This is not the first time we've had problems, but this is the most blatant example. It's robbery. Something needs to be done about this.
