Description

I wish to extend to all of you, a sincere thank you for the honour and privilege of representing our Grand Master. I look forward to travelling to each lodge in our district and the shared fellowship, therein. I encourage all brethren to be active in their lodge and to practice our fundamental principles of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.

Brethren, as you are aware, philanthropy is an inseparable part of the Masonic Fraternity. Indeed, the vital importance of charity is emphasized during the course of our initiation into Freemasonry.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It does not affect the senses and rarely affects the mind. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The neurons that provide voluntary movements and muscle control are affected in an ALS patient. As these neurons atrophy and die, the ability to speak, eat, move and breathe is lost. Patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed. The average life expectancy is 3 to 5 years.
