VOLUNTEERING

The Ottawa Peace and Enviroment Resource Centre (PERC) is an incorporated, registered charity. It is primarily a volunteer-run, grassroots organization with a Board of Directors to govern its operations.

CILT operates on the philosophy of the Independent Living movement which was developed in response to traditional rehabilitation services models. CILT's aim is to develop and implement dignified social services that empower individuals rather than create dependencies. We encourage people with disabilities to take control of their own lives by exercising their right to examine options, make choices, take risks and even make mistakes.

A Gap Year Abroad provides a break from the day-to-day and the normal routines of life. A Gap Year Abroad is unique in that, unlike a week-long vacation, it may only happen once in a lifetime and can last from a few weeks or months up to an entire year or more. There are Travel CUTS locations wherever you’d find students: on or near university and college campuses or along well-travelled streets, in major cities all over Canada.

ReFrame is the new name for an established film festival in Peterborough. We launched our new name during the 2009 festival. ReFrame is now a 100 per cent made-in-Peterborough program and takes place during the last full week in January each year. The former name of the festival was Traveling World Community Film Festival-Peterborough (TWCFF-P). TWCFF-P primarily presented a "package of films" the World Community Film Festival in Courtenay, B.C. kindly shared with us.
