The Alberta Railway Museum, located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, houses an impressive collection of vintage railway equipment and buildings.
The museum opens for the season on Saturday, May 22 at 10 am. Locomotive 9000 will head up the train which runs every hour from 1100 to 1600.
Miss Maria will be reading train stories and hosting train activities for children on Sunday afternoons during the summer. She has developed a program for children that includes a Thomas the Tank Engine theme. She will present a scheduled reading program - about an hour - that will be offered on Sundays during the summer.

Detailed description:
During our summer season, our speeder cars run ON WEEKENDS, offering passenger rides. We also offer passenger service with our locomotives on long weekends - Victoria Day (May), Canada Day (July), Heritage Day (August), and Labour Day (September). Guided and self-guided tours of the museum are available, and last approximately 90 minutes.
Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Alberta Railway Museum (ARM) houses a collection of railway equipment and buildings. Our main emphasis is on cars and locomotives from the Canadian National Railways (CNR), Northern Alberta Railways (NAR) and industrial and short line railways.
We have a gift shop which sells souvenirs, snacks and beverages. For all purchases, we can accept debit cards, Visa and MasterCard.
Because we are an industrial site, we regret that not all of the museum's grounds and collection are wheelchair accessible. For this same reason, baby and child strollers are not recommended for touring the site. Plan to bring a carrier.
